Cutting and whipping Whipping blankets at a Witney mill, 1898. After raising, the stockfuls were at last cut into individual or pairs of blankets. The edges of the blankets were bound with silk ribbon or 'whipped' with worsted thread. Before being packed they were quality checked once again. |
