Packing
Loading bales of blankets for the station at Early's Newland
Warehouse, 1898.
Completed and folded blankets were tightly packed using a screw
press to compress them before being wrapped in paper. They were
packed into hessian bales which were secured by short wooden
blanket skewers. The blankets were now ready to be taken to
Witney goods station by horse-drawn cart for transport to the
dryer.
